Terms of use

Time Capsule is free and needs no account. By using it you agree to these terms. They are short because we hold nothing of yours.

Who we are

Time Capsule is run by Avant Partners Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17447921. Registered office: 24 Westbourne House, Richmond Road, Twickenham, TW1 3AS, United Kingdom. Email: io@existamp.com.

What it does

It locks a letter, and any photos, on your device so that it can only be opened from a date you choose, up to 366 days ahead. You get a link or a file to send. On that date, anyone with the link or the file can open it.

What we can’t do

Using it fairly

Don’t use Time Capsule to send anything illegal, to harass or threaten anyone, or to share images of people without their consent. We can’t see what you lock, but you are responsible for it, and for whom you send it to.

No charge, and our responsibility

The service is free and provided as it is. We work to keep it running and correct, but we can’t promise it will always be available. We aren’t responsible for a letter that can’t be opened because a link or file was lost or changed, or because the public time signal stopped. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility the law doesn’t allow us to limit, or takes away your rights as a consumer.

The law that applies

These terms are under the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your own courts.

Changes

Last updated 28 October 2026. If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and its date.

What it does

Nobody can open the capsule before its date, not you, not the person you send it to and not us, and on the day anyone with the link or file can.

What it doesn’t do

  • It does not keep a copy for you. If you lose the link or the file, nobody can open it, us included.
  • It depends on a public time signal run by a group of independent organisations. If they stop running it before the date, the capsule may never open.
  • It does not stop the person who wrote the letter telling anyone what it says.

Your letter is locked on your phone or computer before anything is sent. We never see it, and we never ask who you are.
